Grokestrator

Many headless grok build instances.
One cockpit.

Grokestrator launches and manages headless grok build instances, each one in its own sidebar tab. Switch between them at will. Mac, iPad, iPhone — same live sessions, anywhere on your Local or Tailscale extended network. Voice control coming soon, and yes, those videos do play in the app.

The problem we’re solving? You have one Mac running 5 grok build sessions — which console is which? Grokestrator launches and connects to headless grok build instances and presents an intuitive UI. Switch between instances. Instances are managed by Grokestrator: shut down when you quit, restarted when you launch. Flip the server setting to “on,” and iPads, iPhones, and your trusty laptop can connect — even if you’re on the road using a Tailscale VPN. All sessions across all devices are sync’d automatically. Leave your Mac doing something, check it on your iPhone while you’re out.

The problem

One AI agent,
one machine, one window.

A grok session lives in a single terminal on a single Mac. Want a second build running in parallel? Open another terminal. Want to step away? Lose the thread. Want to pick up on the iPad while making dinner, or check the state of three builds at once? Not without a tool that treats grok build instances as first-class objects.

Many builds at once, in tabs.
Mac, iPad, iPhone — same session.
MCPs, commands, tools — per instance.
Images, video, audio, PDFs inline.

“Grokestrator launches headless grok builds, parks each one in its own sidebar tab, and lets you switch between them like browser tabs. Every instance keeps its full MCP set, its commands, its tools. Ask any one of them to ‘imagine’ something and the image, video, audio, or PDF lands as a thumbnail in the same chat — on whatever device you’re holding.”

The solution

Headless grok builds.
First-class objects.

Many builds, one cockpit

Grokestrator launches grok in headless mode and gives each instance a sidebar tab. Switch like browser tabs. Every build keeps its full MCP set, its commands, its tools — ready exactly where you left it.

Mac, iPad, iPhone

Native clients on every Apple device. Same live transcript, same permission prompts, same rich media inline. Voice control is the next surface — drive your builds without picking up a device.

Tailscale-secured

No extra auth layer, no exposed ports. Your tailnet is the trust boundary. Personal use is free. If grok works in your terminal, it works in Grokestrator.

How it Works

Install grok the way you already would — per grok.com, run it once in a terminal to authenticate. Install Tailscale on every device you want in the picture. Open Grokestrator on the Mac. That Mac is now a Grokestrator server.

From the cockpit, spin up build instances on demand. Grokestrator launches each one in headless mode and parks it in the sidebar. Each tab is a real grok build — with its own working directory, its own MCP servers, its own custom commands. Run three builds in parallel: refactor in tab one, debug in tab two, draft a doc in tab three. Switch with a click.

Open the iPad or iPhone app, point it at the Mac over the tailnet. You see the same sidebar, the same tabs, the same live transcripts. Type a prompt on the iPad — it lands in the Mac’s grok process. Ask any instance to imagine something and the image, video, audio, or PDF arrives as a thumbnail in the chat, on whichever device you’re holding. Permission prompts pop wherever you are.

Launch builds from the Mac. Drive them from anywhere. Many threads. One cockpit.
